May Newsletter

Dear Friends,

The end of the school year is coming soon, and May is turning out to be a fun month for 826 MSP! Our sixth-annual Trivia for Cheaters fundraiser is coming up on May 25, and before that we'll be celebrating our After-School Writing Lab authors at our Chapbook Release Party & Culture Night on May 18.

Trivia for Cheaters
Are you a fan of trivia but can't resist the urge to cheat? Well, have no fear because 826 MSP has got you covered!

On May 25, join us for Trivia for Cheaters—our annual fundraising event that celebrates your inner trickster—at La Doña Cervecería Brewery! This is the perfect opportunity to put your deception skills to the test and compete against other like-minded individuals.

But why cheat, you may ask? Well, because it's all for a good cause! All proceeds from Trivia for Cheaters go towards 826 MSP's mission of helping young people develop their writing and literacy skills. So, you can feel good about your cheating ways while supporting a great cause. And let's not forget about the prizes! We've got a whole slew of them, from gift cards to local restaurants, to tickets to major sporting events, autographed Vikings memorabilia, and swag bags from Surly Brewing! And, of course, the ultimate prize—the satisfaction of knowing that you've out-cheated your opponents and supported young writers in the Twin Cities.

So, come out and join us on May 25 for a night of shenanigans, prizes, and good old-fashioned cheating. It's all in good fun and for a great cause, so let your inner cheat run wild! There is still time to form your own team and start your own peer-to-peer fundraising by registering here.

Cultural Night & Chapbook Release
As we get ready to round out the school year, 826 MSP is celebrating! We plan to have a Cultural Night and celebrate the release of a new chapbook on Thursday, May 18, from 5–6 p.m. at our center. You're all invited!
