June Newsletter

Dear Friends,

As we look back on the delightful month of May, we can't help but beam with pride and gratitude. It's been a month of accomplishments, celebrations, and, most importantly, impact! We'd love to share our journey through these action-packed weeks with you.

A Flourishing Finish to the Semester

The end of the school year typically brings mixed feelings: a sigh of relief coupled with a tinge of melancholy as we bid goodbye to another season of learning and growth. This year, we decided to add an extra sprinkle of joy and achievement to the mix. Our end-of-semester celebration was marked by the release of a beautifully crafted chapbook, brimming with the creativity and voices of our brilliant After-School Writing Lab students. Their pieces resonate with the echoes of thoughts, ideas, and stories that were nurtured and honed at 826 MSP throughout the semester.

We also organized student readings, providing a platform for our young scholars to showcase their literary prowess. Their words, powerful and raw, truly brought their stories to life, filling us all with awe and admiration. These are the voices of the future, and we're humbly proud to have a hand in shaping them.

Trivia for Cheaters: A Triumph of Teamwork

May also brought the grand success of Trivia for Cheaters, a fun and engaging event that brought together keen minds and competitive spirits, all for a good cause. We're thrilled to announce that we hit our fundraising target of $10,000, thanks to our wonderful community's generosity and enthusiasm!

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in the 2023 Trivia for Cheaters. Your competitive zeal and the wit you brought to the event were absolutely infectious, making the evening a memorable one.

A special shout-out to Andrew Burns, the wizard behind the production, whose hard work and dedication played a significant role in the event's success. Andrew, your support is invaluable, and we cannot thank you enough.

We were also fortunate to have the delightful La Doña Cervecería Brewery as our host. Their support throughout the event, coupled with their incredible beer, created a perfect atmosphere for the evening. Thank you, La Doña Cervecería, for opening your doors to us and our cause.

Finally, we cannot forget the charm and wit of our event host, Do-Hyoung Park, the popular Minnesota Twins reporter at MLB.com. Your charisma kept us all engaged and added an extra touch of excitement to the event. Your support for 826 MSP and our mission is deeply appreciated.

In closing, we're proud of our community's passion and generosity, and we're reminded once again that we're not alone on this journey. As we gear up for the summer, we look forward to the experiences and adventures that lie ahead.

Thank you for being part of our May magic. Here's to creating more enchanting moments in the months to come!

Warmly,
the 826 MSP Team
